Billedstofteater was a theater group active primarily in Denmark between 1977-1985.
The group was founded by the textile artist Kirsten Dehlholm and the pedagogue Per Flink Basse (b. 1949).
The group consisted of between 15-200 performers. They created large, visually striking performances, often as series or processuals of slowly progressing, stylized tableaus. The focus was on images and the body as materiality involved in a poetics of perception and the manifestation of space in ritual repetitions.
